Confident Canines is owned and run by Emma Cowie-Shaw, B.Eng (Hons), WCC ADTI, ADTB AI, ACHUKI.
Emma is an Approved Dog Training Instructor with Waggawuffins Canine College, having been trained by Jane Arden herself (Kennel Club Trainer of the Year). She is one of only a few Approved Instructors in the country having completed a rigorous training regime and achieving a distinction. This covered training techniques to suit many different types of dogs, dog behaviour, dog communication and owner-dog connection.
In 2018, Emma qualified as an Accredited Canine Hoopers Instructor (the first in Lancashire to obtain this status!), and is really enjoying showing people how to get into the new and upcoming sport that is Canine Hoopers.
Emma has also completed all of the ADTB (Academy of Dog Training & Behaviour) courses and has been assessed to the highest standard to gain Approved Instructor status.
As well as gaining instructor status within these organisations, Emma has also completed presentation courses and is trained in training people. Whether in a group environment or on a one-to-one basis, she strives to make all sessions clear, informative, comfortable and engaging for all attending.
She has also been accepted as a member of the PPG (Pet Professional Guild) and is proud to follow their code of ethics for positive, reward based, ethical and force-free training.
To keep up with the latest training techniques, Emma regularly attends workshops and seminars all over the country to gain further knowledge from various top trainers within the industry.
Emma is fully insured and is also qualified in Canine First Aid, having been trained by Rachel Bean, RVA MCFBA.
